Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com reports that the Rockies would "love" to re-acquire reliever LaTroy Hawkins, but that the Astros are not likely to deal him because they are in contention.

Our View:He says the Rockies are desperately looking for relief help, and that they have inquired about Joel Hanrahan, Chad Qualls and Takashi Saito as well (among others). If the Rox stay in contention, look for them to add someone eventually, with Qualls maybe being the most likely, even though the D-Backs might be reluctant to trade within the division.

This weekend's Astros series in Minnesota could be an "audition" for 'Stros reliever LaTroy Hawkins returning to the Twin Cities, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Our View:Hawkins has been excellent for Houston in 2009, posting a 2.43 ERA in 29.2 innings, while picking up nine saves in Jose Valverde's absence. He could really solidify the Twins bullpen and provide an excellent setup option for Joe Nathan.

The Twins may have an interest in reliever LaTroy Hawkins, the Pioneer Press reports.

Our View:Charley Walters connects some obvious dots here. The Twins need relief help, and the Astros are in the cellar of the NL Central. The Astros may be hard-pressed to make a deal until Jose Valverde (calf) proves he is healthy.

LaTroy Hawkins' sore hip has improved and he is fit to resume the closer's role, according to the Houston Chronicle. He sustained the injury Saturday at Wrigley Field and he said, "I feel a lot better than I did on Sunday morning when I got up. But I was at home Monday. I got in the hot tub and did some stuff in the pool instead of just taking the day off, letting everything get stiffened back up. I think it helped."

Our View:Hawkins is a decent option among closers for deeper leagues while Jose Valverde is on the shelf. Hawkins should be fine to return to lineups. The Astros will battle the Brewers at Minute Maid Park tonight.

LaTroy Hawkins was not available to pitch Sunday after injuring his right hip Saturday, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View:He is sore everywhere, and noted that he feels like he was in a car accident. It is uncertain when he may be ready to return. Hawkins has been filling in for the injured Jose Valverde in the closer's role.
