J.P. Arencibia went 1-for-3 with a solo homer off Bud Norris in Monday's 4-1 preseason win over Houston.

Our View:Arencibia is enjoying a nice power surge, as he launched his third homer of spring training. He looks to have a good shot of winning the No. 3 role at catcher in Toronto this season, but won't hold any real fantasy value as long as John Buck and Jose Molina are healthy.

J.P. Arencibia crushed a two-run homer off Zach Miner to break a 7-7 tie in today's game against Detroit. The Jays went on to win 9-7.

Our View:His blast impressed skipper Cito Gaston, who noted that Arencibia could be a legit catcher. He could win the No. 3 spot behind John Buck and Jose Molina, but his fantasy value would be limited.

Catcher J.P. Arencibia drove in two runs with his first home run of the spring Sunday in Toronto's 6-5 loss to the Reds.

Our View:Arencibia will carry no fantasy value, as he is not expected to beat out Michael Barrett and Rod Barajas for a spot at catcher.

J.P. Arencibia homered twice and drove in three runs in AFL play in Thursday.

Our View:Arencibia was the Blue Jays top pick in 2007 and is trying to make his way into the Jays lineup. He has hit four home runs in Arizona and hit 10 in the 2008 season with High-A Dunedin.

J.P. Arencibia hit his 10th homer of the season for High-A Dunedin on Sunday.

Our View:Toronto’s top pick in the 2007 draft is now hitting .319-10-49. His 8/38 BB/K leaves room for improvement, but the Jays can’t be too upset.
