Catcher J.P. Arencibia drove in two runs with his first home run of the spring Sunday in Toronto's 6-5 loss to the Reds.

Our View:Arencibia will carry no fantasy value, as he is not expected to beat out Michael Barrett and Rod Barajas for a spot at catcher.

J.P. Arencibia homered twice and drove in three runs in AFL play in Thursday.

Our View:Arencibia was the Blue Jays top pick in 2007 and is trying to make his way into the Jays lineup. He has hit four home runs in Arizona and hit 10 in the 2008 season with High-A Dunedin.

J.P. Arencibia hit his 10th homer of the season for High-A Dunedin on Sunday.

Our View:Toronto’s top pick in the 2007 draft is now hitting .319-10-49. His 8/38 BB/K leaves room for improvement, but the Jays can’t be too upset.

J.P. Arencibia, Toronto’s top pick in the 2007 draft, hit his fifth home run for High-A Dunedin in Friday.

Our View:Arencibia has not been terrible offensively, but he could be better. He is hitting .269-5-20, but his lack of patience is being exposed with a poor 5/27 BB/K ratio.

J.P. Arencibia, the 21st overall pick in the 2007 draft, hit his second homer in as many days on Tuesday. He is now hitting .300-3-12 at High-A Dunedin this season.

Our View:Toronto’s farm system is loaded with catchers, but Arencibia is already making a name for himself. Arencibia showed in college that he has big offensive potential, and he could be a terrific future fantasy commodity if he can stick behind the plate.
