Player Notes
September 3, 2008
Al Reyes has been promoted to the Mets from Double-A, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:The 38-year-old reliever can be used as a closer, but will likely serve as a setup man with the Mets, limiting his fantasy value.
August 31, 2008
The Mets will add relievers Al Reyes and Ricardo Rincon when the roster expand on Monday, the New York Post reports.

Our View:Nothing like young, fresh blood, huh? Reyes and Rincon are both 38, and this news tells you how worried the Mets are about their bullpen.
August 20, 2008
The NY Post indicates the Mets have acquired Al Reyes, who was cut loose by the Rays.

Our View:The Mets have been looking for bullpen help after Billy Wagner went down, and were considering pulling a starter out of the rotation (namely John Maine) to use as a reliever. Reyes was disappointing in Tampa Bay this season, but will be an upgrade for New York. He could potentially push for saves, and is worth a look in deeper NL-only leagues.
August 18, 2008
Al Reyes has declined an assignment to Triple-A Durham and is now a free agent, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Reyes was disappointing this year, but he should be able to catch on with a team looking for right-handed relief help down the stretch.
August 9, 2008
Tampa Bay pitcher Al Reyes has been designated for assignment by the club, according to The Sports Network.

Our View:The Rays now have 10 days to place him on waivers, trade him or release him. He was of little importance in fantasy leagues, having thrown just 22.2 innings this year.
