Josh Geer was tagged for three earned runs on seven hits over seven innings in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Astros at Petco Park. He had no walks and two strikeouts.

Our View:Geer falls to 1-3, and has not won since May 23. He has given up three or more earned runs in each of his last five outings, and is only worth consideration for deeper NL-only leagues for his next start.
June 25, 2009
Josh Geer surrendered three earned runs on eight hits over six innings in Wednesday's 4-3 loss at Seattle. He had three walks and three strikeouts.

Our View:Geer is winless over his last five starts, and has given up three or more earned runs in each of his last four. He is only worth using in deeper NL-only leagues for his next turn in the Padres' rotation.
June 18, 2009
Josh Geer rebounded after a poor outing his last time out, and held the Mariners to three runs in six innings while striking out six and walking none. The Padres won 4-3 in ten innings.

Our View:Geer was good today, but could very easily be terrible his next time out. He is a start at your own risk spot starting option.
June 13, 2009
Josh Geer was lit up for seven earned runs on nine hits over 5.2 innings in Saturday's 9-1 loss at the Angels. He had one walk and five strikeouts, and gave up four homers.

Our View:Geer has allowed four or more earned runs in five of his last seven starts, and is too unstable to employ outside of deeper NL-only leagues.
May 5, 2009
Josh Geer tossed a brilliant eight-inning affair on Tuesday, but did not factor in the decision as the Padres won in walk-off fashion in the tenth inning. Geer allowed just one run on five hits and two walks as the Pads doubled up the Rockies 2-1.

Our View:Geer has only started three games this season and has looked good in two of them. He was roughed up in one and also in a relief outing, but appears to be figuring things out. Tuesday's effort dropped his ERA to a respectable 3.96.
