Josh Geer has been yanked from the Padres rotation after his latest bad start on Tuesday, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Our View:He will replaced by reliever Edward Mujica. Geer has given up a major league leading 27 home runs this season (no small feat for pitching half of your games in the cavernous Petco Park), and has a cringe-inducing ERA of 5.96. He won't be back in the rotation any time soon.

Josh Geer gave up five runs (four earned) on four hits over four innings in Monday's 6-4 loss at Cincinnati. He had one walk and one strikeout, and was rocked for three homers.

Our View:Geer falls to 1-7, and was not expected to fare well at launching pad Great American Ballpark. He is only an option for the deepest of fantasy leagues.
July 22, 2009
Josh Geer pitched six workmanlike innings on Wednesday, allowing just two runs on six hits, but took his six loss of the season, as the Pads couldn't get anything going against Ricky Nolasco.

Our View:Geer has just one win in 2009, and only five quality starts. He's not a good bet if you are looking for a spot-starter.
July 18, 2009
Josh Geer struggled again on Friday in the Padres' 5-3 loss to the Rockies. Geer went four innings and allowed five runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out two.

Our View:Geer has now gone ten straight starts without a win, and his fantasy value has never been lower. He should not be viewed as an option in any format, and he will have to put together a nice run to get any value back.

Josh Geer was roughed up for six earned runs on seven hits over 4.2 innings in Thursday's 9-3 loss at San Francisco. He had no walks and four strikeouts, and was tagged for three homers.

Our View:Geer falls to 1-4 and his ERA climbs to 5.79. He is winless over his last nine outings, and is not fit for fantasy duty.
