Player Notes

Brett Anderson threw four shutout innings in spring action against the Giants on Wednesday.

Our View:The young A's hurler now has a 3.24 ERA this spring. He's a solid pick in all AL-only leagues, but might be better off being used as a spot starter in mixed formats.

Brett Anderson allowed four runs (only one earned) in five innings on Thursday, enough to doom the A's to a 4-2 loss in Seattle.

Our View:The start was the last of Anderson's rookie campaign, which, all-in-all, was a very successful one. In 30 starts, he went 11-11 with a 4.06 ERA and 150 strikeouts in 175.1 innings. He is definitely someone to target in the later rounds of your draft next season.

Brett Anderson was solid in picking up his 11th win of the season on Thursday. Anderson went 5.2 innings and allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out six.

Our View:Anderson improved to 4-0 in the month of September, and he is fnishing out his rookie campaign on a very high note. His ERA is at 4.12 for the season, and he looks to have a bright future in the Oakland rotation.

Brett Anderson only issued four hits over six scoreless innings in Friday's 2-1 win over the Indians at McAfee Coliseum. He had one walk and racked up 10 strikeouts.

Our View:Anderson enjoyed one of his best outings of 2009, and evened his record to 10-10. The rookie is hot, as he is 3-0 with a 2.50 ERA over three starts in September.

Brett Anderson was very good on Saturday as the A's picked up a win against the Twins by the score of 4-2. Anderson went seven innings and allowed two runs on five hits while striking out four.

Our View:Anderson is now 9-10 on the season, but his 4.37 ERA is pretty solid for the rookie. He looks like a guy who can contribute to a fantasy squad in the future, but he is just an average play right now.
