Player Notes
September 30, 2008
Emmanuel Burriss is in the lead to be the Giants starting shortstop next season as there is no chance that the team will bring back Omar Vizquel, according to The Mercury News.

Our View:Burriss hit .283 with a .357 OBP this past season in 240 AB, he even tossed in 13 steals, but he has no pop whatsoever with six doubles and one home run, and would appear to be nothing more than a NL-only pickup.
September 24, 2008
Emmanuel Burriss, who is recovering from an oblique strain, could hit this weekend for the first time since September 8, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:Burriss held favorable value in larger NL-only leagues with 13 stolen bases and a .283 average, but does not merit fantasy consideration for a handful of at-bats this weekend.
September 19, 2008
Emmanuel Burriss may return with less than two weeks left in the season, according to the SF Chronicle. His left oblique strain has improved rapidly during the past four days, and has not been ruled out for pinch-running or hitting before the end of the year.

Our View:He would like to play once or twice more, but does not merit fantasy consideration for brief action.
September 9, 2008
Emmanuel Burriss could miss the remainder of the season after injuring his left oblique muscle on Monday, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:Side-muscle injuries are complicated, and usually take more than three weeks to heal. Burriss has minimal power, but held value in the speed department with 13 steals.
August 21, 2008
Emmanuel Burriss scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth to help the Giants defeat the Marlins 4-3 on Thursday.

Our View:After entering Thursday's game against the Marlins in the seventh inning, Manny Burriss went 1-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base.
