Alexei Ramirez is ready to move to shortstop for the White Sox next year, if needed, according to the AP. "I'd be extremely happy. I do feel it's my natural position, I feel it's the position that I've always felt most comfortable and natural in," Ramirez said Tuesday in a conference call.

Our View:The Sox aren't expected to bring Orlando Cabrera back, so Alexei is likely to move to the other side of second base. Although he has a penchant to make the spectacular play, Ramirez isn't a great defender fundamentally, so the transition could be rough.
October 31, 2008

Our View:This news is another indication that Orlando Cabrera will not be back with the club. Chicago will likely target someone to cover second base, potentially Chone Figgins.

Our View:Ramirez is hitting an even .300 with 17 long balls, 65 RBI and 12 stolen bases in his first season in the bigs. His upside is such that he likely hasn't reached his ceiling yet making him an intriguing pickup for the 2009 season.

Alexei Ramirez was caught stealing for the third time this season on Saturday night, but it was his only foible in a 3-for-3 effort with two runs scored and an RBI.

June 27, 2008
The White Sox, who have Alexei Ramirez penciled in as the starting second baseman for Friday afternoon's game against the Cubs, could make a change. Ramirez's wife is expecting to deliver the couple's baby at any time.

Our View:If Ramirez doesn't make the game Juan Uribe will start.
June 26, 2008
Alexei Ramirez had another two hits on Thursday to boost his average to .295 for the White Sox.

Our View:Who needs Juan Uribe with production like that? Ramirez has only attempted five steals, he has been successful three times, but other than that deficiency, he has pretty much been as advertised for the Sox.

Our View:That was a memorable performance for him, but he only has three RBI over 12 games in May, and his average still stands at .156. He is best left to remain on your bench.
May 16, 2008

Our View:He has loads of potential, but is only hitting .143 so far, with no homers and three RBI over 42 at-bats. Keep him on your bench.

The White Sox have reinstated Alexei Ramirez from the restricted list Tuesday, allowing the Cuban defector to return to the team after skipping a weekend series in Toronto, according to the Miami Herald. The 26-year-old, who was a former member of Cuba's national team, would likely have had visa problems traveling between Canada and the United States, so he remained in Chicago during the team's four-game series in Toronto.

Our View:Ramirez is only hitting .121 over 33 at-bats this season, but could see more action if Juan Uribe gets released, which is being speculated.
May 5, 2008
Alexei Ramirez is set to come off the restricted list on Tuesday and will rejoin the White Sox for their series against the Twins in Chicago, according to manager Ozzie Guillen, notes MLB.com.
