Player Notes
October 10, 2008
The Padres have claimed Travis Denker off waivers from the Giants, according to the AP.

Our View:The 23-year-old made his Major League debut with San Francisco on May 21 and hit .243 with four doubles and a homer over 24 contests.
September 3, 2008
The Giants didn't recall Travis Denker from the minors, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:The team figured he wouldn't have gotten much of an opportunity to play within a crowded group of infielders.
July 11, 2008
Outfielder Travis Denker has been optioned to Triple-A Fresno, according to the AP. The team called up infielder Ivan Ochoa as an adjoining move.

Our View:Denker was viewed as expendable, as he only hit .243 with one homer over 37 at-bats with the Giants this season.
June 18, 2008
Travis Denker will start on Wednesday in place of Ray Durham, who is presumably just getting a day off, the San Jose Mercury News notes.

Our View:It's a day game after a night contest, so it's not too surprising to see Durham on the bench.
June 4, 2008
The Giants took the fall against the Mets this evening, falling 9-6, but they didn't go down without a fight. Rookie second baseman Travis Denker , entering the game as a pinch hitter for Ray Durham, went 2-for-3 at the dish with his first home run of the season (and his career) to finish with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Our View:Denker started getting looks in late May and has struggled a bit, but tonight shows he has the potential to make noise.
