Gregorio Petit has been optioned to Triple-A Sacramento by the A's, according to the Associated Press. Chris Denorfia was recalled as the adjoining move.

Our View:Petit was only hitting .226 over 31 at-bats with Oakland this season, and failed to protect his job. He won't be missed while working in the minors.

Gregorio Petit has been recalled by the Athletics from Triple-A Sacramento, according to the Associated Press. Pitcher Jeff Gray was sent down as the adjoining move.

Our View:Petit is a career .302 hitter in the majors, but may not see enough playing time as a reserve middle infielder to be useful outside of deeper fantasy leagues.

Our View:He was demoted after the club acquired Adam Kennedy from the Rays. Petit was hitting .250 over 20 at-bats.

Gregorio Petit has been reassigned to minor league camp by Oakland, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Petit hit .348 with a .400 OBP over 23 at-bats with Oakland last season, but did not record any homers, stolen bases or RBI. He made two fielding errors as well, and his fantasy stock would have been low if he made the A's as a reserve middle infielder.

Our View:Petit held his own at the plate in his brief time with the A's, but he wasn't getting enough playing time to be worthy of a fantasy roster spot.
