Steve Pearce went 2-for-4 with a steal on Saturday, but it wasn't nearly enough, as the Pirates lost 3-1 in Chicago.

Our View:Pearce's two hits raised his average from .217 to .233. He's worth monitoring in NL-only formats.

Steve Pearce homered and drove in two runs on Sunday, but couldn't prevent Pittsburgh from getting swept, as the Bucs lost 7-3 to the Cardinals at home.

Our View:Pearce is batting just .230 with two runs in 25 games this season, and is not a good option in NL-only formats.

As expected, Steve Pearce has been recalled by the Pirates from the minors, according to TSN.

Our View:He was recalled by Pittsburgh to provide depth at first base after dealing Adam LaRoche to Boston. Pearce was batting .286 with 13 homers in Triple-A, and is worth adding in NL-only leagues.

The Pirates are planning on recalling Steve Pearce on Thursday, and playing him regularly at first base in wake of the Adam LaRoche trade, according to ESPN.

Our View:Pearce is just 1-for-12 in the major leagues this season, though he is a career .254 hitter in 189 at-bats.

Steve Pearce has been demoted to Triple-A Indianapolis, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Dejan Kovacevic.

Our View:Pearce had just one hit in 11 at-bats since being called up in June. He is not fantasy relevant in any format at this point.
