Max Scherzer only issued one hit over four scoreless innings in Saturday's 9-1 loss to the Mets in the Grapefruit League. He fired five strikeouts with no walks.

Our View:Scherzer bounced back great after giving up five runs in his previous outing versus Atlanta. He has loads of potential, and will have a solid supporting cast to help him succeed in 2010. Today's performance will also solidify his spot near the top of Detroit's rotation.

Max Scherzer once again got shelled, registering a mere one out before being pulled in his start against Atlanta after giving up five runs off four hits and three walks.

Our View:Scherzer wasn't much better last Thursday against Toronto. Control has always been an issue with him, and owners should at least have these past two games in mind when considering drafting him.

Max Scherzer got rocked in his Tigers debut on Thursday, giving up six hits and three runs in just two innings of work against the Blue Jays.

Our View:Not a great day considering pitchers are supposed to be ahead of the hitters this time of year, especially pitchers with fastballs in the mid-to-upper nineties. Hopefully he looks better his next time out.

Max Scherzer has been dealt from the Diamondbacks to the Tigers in part of the three-way deal also involving the Yankees, according to USA Today.

Our View:The deal sends Curtis Granderson from Detroit to New York, with the Tigers getting Austin Jackson and Phil Coke from New York and Daniel Schlereth from Arizona along with Scherzer. Arizona received Ian Kennedy from New York and Edwin Jackson from Detroit. Both Comerica Park (Detroit) and Chase Field (Arizona) are considered hitter-friendly stadiums, so no real change there, but Scherzer should be blessed with at least a bit more offensive support with the Tigers. Scherzer has struggled with his control at times over his first two seasons in the majors but has the strikeout potential to be an excellent fantasy pitcher down the road.

The Tigers, Yankees and Diamondbacks are discussing a blockbuster deal that would include Max Scherzer, Curtis Granderson and Edwin Jackson, according to Fox Sports.

Our View:Talks are currently at an "impasse," but not dead. The deal would shake out as follows: the Yanks would get Granderson from the Tigers, and "one or two" prospects from the Diamondbacks. Arizona would get Jackson from Detoit and right-hander Ian Kennedy from the Yankees. Finally, the Tigers would get Scherzer from the Diamondbacks, and "center-fielder Austin Jackson and left-handed relievers Phil Coke and Michael Dunn from the Yankees." Blockbuster, indeed. Stay tuned.
