Player Notes
September 25, 2008
Armando Galarraga pitched the Tigers to a 7-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. He was not spectacular, however, as he allowed three home runs and five earned runs in 7.2 innings.

Our View:Galarraga ends his year with a 13-6 record and 3.68 ERA. He was one of the few Tigers hurlers who actually exceeded expectations instead of falling miserably below them.
September 19, 2008
Armando Galarraga had his best start in a long time on Friday but his bullpen blew yet another potential win for him. He threw 7.2 innings before being lifted for Casey Fossom. Galarraga had allowed just four hits, two of them home runs, on the night.

Our View:He had allowed 11 earned runs in his past 10 innings so despite the tough luck, this was still a relief for his fantasy owners.
September 19, 2008
Armando Galarraga is beginning to feel the long and grinding MLB season. Following a 5-0 stretch over six outings in July and August, the right-hander is 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA in his last four starts.

Our View:However, Galarraga has had success against Cleveland, tonight's opponent, going 3-0 with a 3.65 ERA in four starts.
September 10, 2008
Detroit hurler Armando Galarraga saw his record drop to 12-6 after going four innings and giving up five earned runs in the Tigers 5-2 loss to Oakland.

Our View:Galarraga has been bad in September, giving up 11 earned runs in 10 total innings. He may be getting fatigued, and his ERA has jumped from 3.17 to 3.58 in that time.
September 5, 2008
Armando Galarraga yielded six runs in six innings to the Twins on Friday. He only gave up three hits while walking a season-high six batters and striking out four.

Our View:Galarraga's ERA remains an impressive 3.39. He has been the best pitcher on a weak Detroit staff this season.
