Player Notes
November 21, 2008
The Cardinals outrighted Mike Parisi to Triple-A Memphis, according to Scout.com.

Our View:The 25-year-old pitcher held a dismal 2.26 WHIP over 23 innings with St. Louis in 2008, which led to the decision to remove him from the 40-man roster.
August 11, 2008
Mike Parisi has been diagnosed with a partial tear of his ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, according to MLB.com. He has been shut down for the remainder of the season. He had been pitching at Triple-A Memphis.

Our View:At this time, the Cardinals hope that Parisi will not need to have Tommy John surgery. He was pitching well at Memphis with an 8-2 record and 3.86 ERA.

Pitcher Mike Parisi has been optioned to Triple-A Memphis, according to the AP. The team activated Mark Mulder from the DL, and Parisi was viewed as expendable to make room on the roster.

Our View:Parisi held little to no fantasy value this season prior to his demotion, as he allowed 37 hits, 15 walks, and 21 earned runs over 23 innings of work, with only 13 strikeouts.
June 6, 2008
The Cardinals optioned Mike Parisi to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, which means the right-hander won't get the start Saturday for the injured Joel Piniero.

Our View:The most logical replacement is Anthony Reyes at this point, but no official announcement has been made.
June 2, 2008
Mike Parisi will get a second start on Thursday against the Nationals despite getting rocked by the Pirates on Saturday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Our View:Parisi could hardly ask for a better opponent. The rookie doesn't have any fantasy value and could be making his last start before Joel Pineiro returns.
