Kelvin Jimenez could get called up by the Cardinals, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:The reliever would be brought in to protect their pitching for their stretch of 18 games in 18 days. He wouldn't be worth acquiring as a fantasy prospect, especially since he issued six earned runs and four home runs over 6.1 innings of work with the Cardinals this season.

Kelvin Jimenez had his minor league assignment with Memphis rescinded Friday after the Cardinals determined that his hand ailment would prevent him from pitching, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Jimenez has been placed on the major-league, 15-day DL.

Our View:Jimenez surrendered six earned runs and nine hits over 6.1 innings of relief work for the Cardinals this season, with two walks and only three strikeouts. He held no fantasy value.

Kelvin Jimenez was sent down to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, the AP reports.

Our View:It was a short, rough ride for Jimenez. He gave up six hits and five runs over 3.1 innings on Saturday, his only appearance this time around.

Kelvin Jimenez is believed to be a likely candidate to get sent down when Joel Pineiro returns for his start against the Giants on Sunday, according to MLB.com. He was called up from Memphis when Russ Springer was placed on the DL, and he seems to be the most expendable on the Cardinals' roster.
