July 28, 2008 Salomon Torres notched his second loss of the month against the Cubs on Monday. Entering a tie game, he walked three and gave up two hits to go with two runs in the ninth innning at Wrigley. Our View:Torres has been mostly reliable in a number of big wins for the Brewers but this one was a big loss. It's not likely that he is in danger of losing his job, though. This was really the first game that he showed any problems with his command. |

July 22, 2008 Salomon Torres recorded his 18th save in 22 chances on Tuesday in St. Louis. He pitched a perfect ninth to protect a 4-3 lead. Our View:Torres has pitched well enough to become the no-question closer for the Brewers despite the successful return of Eric Gagne. |

June 24, 2008 Despite giving up a two run home run to Mark Teixeira in the ninth, Salomon Torres notched his eighth save of the month. Our View:Torres appears to be a reliable closer. Eric Gagne began his minor league rehab assignment tonight, but this is Torres' job to lose at this point. |

June 21, 2008 Eric Gagne is expected to return to the Brewers bullpen next weekend, but it won't be in the closer role. Manager Ned Yost told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that Salomon Torres will keep his gig. Our View:Torres is a perfect 9-for-9 in save chances since assuming the ninth inning duties. If he should happen to still be on your waiver wire, snatch him up. |

Torres pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing no hits with one walk, three ground outs, and two fly outs. Our View:Torres has now has six saves in his last seven outings, allowing just two hits with no runs, two walks, and 11 strikeouts during that span. |
