According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The Pirates have sent Brian Bixler back to Triple-A Indianapolis to make room for the newly activated Jack Wilson.

Our View:Bixler did not do anything at the major league level to make this a difficult decision for the Buccos. He struck out 18 times in 25 at-bats, a number that proves he needs some more time in the minors.

Brian Bixler is expected to be sent down to the minors when Jack Wilson is activated from the DL Tuesday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:Bixler failed to prove his worth during his stint with the club, as he is hitting .200 over 15 at-bats, with 10 strikeouts.

The Pirates called up infielder Brian Bixler on Sunday.

Our View:Bixler can play second base and shortstop, and he will help fill in while Jack Wilson (finger) is out. Ramon Vazquez could see the majority of the starts at shortstop, though.

Brian Bixler has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis by the Pirates, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Our View:Bixler only hit .157 with a .229 OBP over 108 at-bats in 2008, and was just as bad with his glove as he made eight errors. He would not have held much fantasy value if he made the Pirates as a reserve middle infielder.
March 24, 2009
Infielder Brian Bixler went 3-for-5 with a run and two steals in Tuesday's win over the Braves. He is hitting .356 with three steals and three triples this spring.

Our View:Bixler, 26, has also struck out 12 times this spring, but he is stepping up his game at the right time. His stock has fallen over the last two seasons, but the Bucs still don't have long-term answers at second base and shortstop.
