Brian Bixler has been traded from Pittsburgh to Cleveland in exchange for Single-A third baseman Jesus Brito, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Bixler is good defensively, and could serve at many positions as a utility man. He has some speed too, and was added to improve Cleveland's middle infield depth.

The Pirates hope infielder Brian Bixler can develop into a "super-utility" type player, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:The Bucs love his defensive versatility, but his woeful bat (he has a .178 average and 62 strikeouts in 152 career at-bats), will most likely limit his usefulness next season. Even in the darkest corners of the deepest NL-only leagues, he'll be hard-pressed to have any fantasy value in 2010.

MLB.com is reporting that the Pirates have recalled Brian Bixler from Triple-A Indianapolis. Bixler is hitting .212 in 33 at-bats with the team this season.

Our View:With the Triple-A season ending Monday for Indy, the Pirates are adding a few players for depth. Bixler hasn't been able to do much at the plate with the Pirates this season, and he is not expected to see much playing time this time around.

Brian Bixler has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis by the Pirates, according to TSN. The club recalled pitcher Daniel McCutchen as the adjoining move.

Our View:Bixler failed to impress Pittsburgh this season, as he holds an anemic .212 average over 33 at-bats. He holds no fantasy value while working on his skills in the minors.

Brian Bixler has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Our View:Bixler rather famously, and ingloriously, stuck out 18 times in 25 major league at-bats earlier this season, and wasn't exactly tearing the cover off of the ball in the minors, hitting just .278. Draw your own conclusions.
