June 22, 2008 Todd Jones was struck on the knee by a batted ball, but he remained in the game and picked up his 14th save of the season on Sunday. Our View:Jones has been pretty effective this season given his 3.81 ERA and 14 saves in 14 chances, so don't be so quick to write him off in favor of a healthy Joel Zumaya. |

May 17, 2008 Todd Jones pitched the ninth for his sixth save in six chances. Our View:The Tigers are in for a long season with their bullpen, rotation and Jones as their closer. And while they sport a solid lineup top to bottom, it was more than obvious tonight that they're also soft at the corners defensively. |

April 26, 2008 Todd Jones, the fourth Detroit pitcher used in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Angels, recorded his fourth save with a scoreless ninth inning of work. Our View:Jones now has four saves on the season. The Tigers are beginning to play to their potential so expect Jones' save total to be bigger and better in May. |
