Player Notes
August 28, 2008
Kurt Suzuki won the game for the Athletics on Thursday night as he had a pinch hit double to plate Ryan Sweeney in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the A's a 3-2 victory over the Twins.

Our View:Suzuki had seven home runs and 39 RBI in 213 AB last season, and though he has only seven home runs and 37 RBI in 442 AB this season, he can be considered to have improved his game at the dish thanks to a .284 average and a .350 OBP this season.

Kurt Suzuki had his second consecutive three-hit game on Monday against the Kansas City Royals. He seemed to be the only hitter who could make contact with Royals ace Zach Greinke's filthy stuff.

Our View:His average is now an even .300 and he is coming in at a .346 clip in July. He hit .370 in June and should be a consistent producer out of the two-hole for the A's going forward. He plays as regularly as any catcher in the majors.
July 27, 2008
Kurt Suzuki went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in the A's 6-5 victory over the Rangers on Sunday.

Our View:Suzuki's average is up to .294 and the A's have been using him out of the number two spot lately. He doesn't provide much power (five home runs) but has recorded 18 doubles. He is one of the more reliable catchers in fantasy because he plays so often.
July 16, 2008
Kurt Suzuki hit only .213 in May causing many owners to panic, but since then he has rebounded in a big way hitting .325 over his last 36 games.

Our View:Suzuki continues to be extremely inconsistent at the dish, and though his numbers since June 1st are great, he is hitting just .244 with only one RBI over his last 13 games. He isn't a top flight option, but he looks like a solid catcher two moving forward.
July 3, 2008
Kurt Suzuki finished the month of June with an impressive row of averages: .370/.432/.543. He is a regular at the top of the order for the Oakland A's.

Our View:Suzuki is wothy of a look if you are in need of a catcher. We have our doubts that he can keep up his hot streak, but there were only a handful of catchers more productive than he was last month.
