Player Notes
June 25, 2008
Carlos Gomez returned to the world of the living on Monday night as he had three hits which led to two RBI. He also stole his 19th and 20th bases of the year.

Our View:Those two steals were just his second and third in his last 22 games, a completely unacceptable number for a player with his wheels. His lack of plate discipline still has his OBP hovering around the .300 mark, something that must improve substantially for him to maintain his value.
June 18, 2008
Carlos Gomez went 3-for-5 scoring twice and driving in one as the Twins routed the National 11-2 on Wednesday night.

Our View:Gomez raised his average to .274 and now has 25 RBI and 43 runs scored on the season.
May 29, 2008
Carlos Gomez went 4-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI for the Twins. He was also thrown out twice trying to steal.

Our View:Gomez continues to confound conventional wisdom by hitting at a near .300 clip (.293) despite a plethora of K (52) and few walks (five). At some point something will have to change, we would bet on the average falling.
May 22, 2008
Carlos Gomez had one of his best days of the season at the plate as he had four hits, one being his fourth home run, with two runs scored and three RBI for the Twins.

Our View:With this outing Gomez saw his average climb to .286, though his OBP is still barely above .300 because of only six walks on the year. At least he is back in the lineup and apparently healthy.
May 20, 2008
Carlos Gomez is back in the starting lineup for the Twins on Tuesday night against the Rangers. Gomez has been available only as a pinch hitter since last week while he nursed a wrist injury.

Our View:Gomez has 155 at-bats heading into Tuesday's game. He's recorded 14 RBI, 24 runs scored, three home runs and 16 stolen bases while hitting .271.
