MLB.com is reporting that Twins' injured pitcher Kevin Slowey is expected to be ready for spring training next season. Slowey will report a month early to the spring training facility to make sure he is ready.

Our View:Slowey was having a very solid year before his injury, and he will be looking to pick up where he left off when the spring begins in 2010. He should be fine for next season, as the injury only has a 2-to-4 month recovery time.

As expected, Kevin Slowey underwent surgery on his right wrist Tuesday to remove a bone chip, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:He will need 2-4 months of recovery time, and the Twins expect him to be ready to go for spring training.

Confirming prior suspicions, Kevin Slowey will indeed have surgery on his right wrist that will most likely keep him out the rest of 2009, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:Kevin Slowey's 2009 campaign will be viewed as mostly disappointing, as his ERA (4.86) and WHIP (1.41) were both significantly worse compared to last year's figures. He was, however, able to go 10-3 in just 16 starts while maintaining an excellent 5:1 K:BB ratio that he has become known for. At just 25 years old, there's plenty of things to like about Slowey, and he'll certainly reclaim his spot in Minnesota's rotation and merit being drafted in leagues of all sizes and formats next season. Anthony Swarzak will remain in Minnesota's rotation in Slowey's absence.

According to MLB.com, Twins' starter Kevin Slowey is scheduled to meet with team doctors when the team's current 10-game road trip is complete. Slowey has been shut down by the team after he was unable to play catch on Friday.

Our View:Slowey's meeting with the doctors seems to be to determine if he will need surgery on his wrist. Things aren't looking great for Slowey at this point, and owners will want to start making plans to replace him permanently this season. We will keep you updated on his status as the news becomes available.
