Pitcher Marino Salas was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday, according to the Pirates official web site.

Our View:The Pirates are trying to make room on their 40 man roster to get ready for free agency. This move opens up a spot on the roster.
September 29, 2008
Marino Salas pitched sparingly in Septemer because the team was altering his delivery, adding a higher leg kick to get him to release at a higher and more consistent angle, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:He will play the entire Dominican winter season to practice. He is confident he will be much better next spring. He ended the 2008 campaign with a terrible 2.29 WHIP over 17 innings of relief.
July 21, 2008
The Pirates sent reliever Marino Salas back to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review confirms.

Our View:It's too bad the road between Indianapolis and Pittsburgh isn't longer because Salas would be racking up a ton of frequent flyer miles this year. He has no fantasy value.
July 17, 2008
Marino Salas will rejoin the Pirates' bullpen today to replace Romulo Sanchez, who was optioned to Triple-A Sunday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:Salas will be available to pitch tonight against the Rockies, but does not garner fantasy interest, as he allowed 12 earned runs, 18 hits, and eight walks over 9.2 innings of work this season.
June 13, 2008
Righty reliever Marino Salas has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. He takes the place of Bryan Bullington on the roster, who was optioned back to Indianapolis.

Our View:This will be his second dance with the Pirates this season. He is not worth fantasy consideration, as he allowed seven runs, 13 hits, and seven walks over nine innings in his previous stint.
