According to the LA Times, Angels' reliever Jose Arredondo lowered his ERA to 1.59 for Triple-A Salt Lake after pitching scoreless innings Saturday and Sunday. The team is expected to recall Arredondo when they return home after their three game trip to Kansas City.

Our View:Arredondo has be outstanding as of late for Salt Lake, and the Angels are expected to give him a chance to reclaim his role as the setup man to closer Brian Fuentes. The Angels are still in the market for a veteran reliever, but it would be a huge boost to the bullpen if Arredondo could return to form in the coming weeks. We will keep you updated on his status going forward.

MLB.com is reporting that an MRI on the injured elbow of Angels' reliever Jose Arredondo showed no structural damage. The injury is being classified as "a minor setback-inflammation in the elbow."

Our View:These reports are much better than was expected, but it is still an elbow injury to a pitcher, which usually means he will be out for a significant amount of time. With his struggles this season, look for Arredondo to spend a good amount of time in the minors, thus eliminating him from fantasy consideration for the near future.

According to the OC Register, Angels' reliever Jose Arredondo has been placed on the minor league DL with a right ulnar collateral ligament sprain. Arredondo had made six appearances for the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees since being sent down by the Angels, and allowed three hits while both walking and striking out seven.

Our View:Arredondo has been a huge disappointment for the Angels this season, and now it looks like he will be out for a pretty decent amount of time. The team was hoping he could correct some flaws while in Triple-A, but with the injury it is unlikely we see him back in the big leagues any time soon. If for some reason he is still on your team, get rid of him.

The Angels have optioned reliever Jose Arredondo to Triple-A Salt Lake. "Jose needs to work some things out," manager Mike Scioscia tells MLB.com. "We saw what his upside was last year, how important he was... He's obviously taken a small step backwards right here in the first two months."

Our View:Arredondo is tied for the AL lead with 12 holds, but he has clearly not been at his best this season. The Angels will now be without Arredondo and Scot Shields. Relievers like Darren Oliver, Justin Speier, and Jason Bulger will need to step up.

Jose Arredondo is out of the World Baseball Classic due to a strained hip flexor, according to the Orange County Register. He was going to represent the Dominican Republic.

Our View:The injury does not sound serious. If healthy, Arredondo figures to battle Scot Shields for 8th inning duties in front of newly acquired closer Brian Fuentes.
