Marlins outfielder Brett Carroll was activated from the 60-day disabled list after suffering a shoulder separation in May, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Our View:Carroll was hitting .063 in 16 at-bats before getting injured and should not be on fantasy rosters.

Brett Carroll suffered a Level 2 shoulder separation and partially torn ligaments as a result of his encounter with the right field wall Friday, according to MLB.com. "Where my collarbone is, where it connects to the shoulder, on the X-ray, it's slightly elevated," Carroll said. "It felt like a car wreck when I hit the wall, though."

Our View:Carroll has been placed on the DL and will be replaced on the roster by Robert Andino, leaving power hitter Dallas McPherson in the minors.

Brett Carroll left Friday's game in the fourth inning after running into the wall, according to SportsTicker. The outfielder was holding his right shoulder and grimacing in pain before exiting. Jacque Jones replaced him.

Our View:Carroll was ripping the ball in the minors before getting recalled, but he's picked up just one hit in his first 16 at-bats with the Fish.

Brett Carroll is expected to be recalled by the Marlins to replace the injured Josh Willingham on the roster, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Caroll had a triple in eight at-bats earlier this year with the Fish. He was hitting .418 with nine homers and 23 RBI in 67 at-bats with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Our View:Carroll could get some playing time in left against southpaws. He may be worth a flyer in NL-only play.

Brett Carroll has been optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, according to FishStripes.com. He held no fantasy value and has been sent down to make room for Jeremy Hermida, who is being activated from the DL.
