The Indians recalled Ben Francisco from Triple-A Buffalo before Saturday's game. He hit .273 with three homers in 44 at-bats earlier this season, but he hit .318 with 12 homers and 22 steals in 377 Triple-A at-bats.

The Indians optioned Ben Francisco to Triple-A Buffalo Friday. The move was made to clear a roster spot for Kenny Lofton, who was acquired via trade from the Rangers. Francisco hit .273 with three homers and seven RBI in 44 at-bats with the Indians.

Ben Francisco got his third start in four games on Monday and came up big again. Three days after hitting a walk-off homer for his first major league hit, Francisco went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI during a win over the Devil Rays. "Once you contribute," Francisco told the team's official website, "you settle in and it starts to calm your nerves." Francisco was hitting .329 with six homers and 15 stolen bases at Triple-A before his call-up last week, and with David Dellucci out at least eight weeks he has a chance to earn regular playing time.

Ben Francisco had a memorable major league debut for the Indians on Friday. He recorded his first career hit in the fourth and then led off the ninth with a home run off Tampa Bay's Shawn Camp to give the Indians a 2-1 win. "It was an awesome day," Francisco told the AP. "I was just trying to get on base and I ended up doing something special."

Ben Francisco was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo Wednesday, taking David Dellucci's spot on the roster. Francisco, who was hitting .329 with six homers in the minors, is expected to be a reserve outfielder while he's with the big club.

The Indians recalled Ben Francisco from Triple-A Buffalo Tuesday to replace Fausto Carmona on the roster, according to Sports Network. Francisco was hitting .299 with a homer, nine RBI and seven steals for Buffalo. Francisco figures to be sent back down on Thursday when Cliff Lee is activated from the DL.
