Brian Burres has been battling a stomach virus, but he is penciled in to make his start tonight against the Royals, according to MLB.com.

Our View:This is good news that manager Dave Trembley didn't have to replace him for tonight, but he is not worth fantasy consideration, as he has allowed six or more earned runs in three of his last six starts.

Brian Burres did some throwing and running earlier today, and is expected to make his scheduled start on Monday, according to the Baltimore Sun. He is battling a stomach virus, but looked much better today.

Our View:Manager Dave Trembley does not have a "Plan B" in case Burres cannot go on Monday (against the Royals), and said it would depend on who works today if he goes to the bullpen.

Brian Burres' stomach ailment has returned on Saturday, according to the Baltimore Sun. He underwent a CT scan, which came back negative, but he's questionable for Monday's start against the Royals at Camden Yards.

Our View:Manager Dave Trembley is undecided who would cover Burres' spot in the rotation, but he did rule out Hayden Penn.

The Baltimore Sun reports that Brian Burres will not make his scheduled start tonight against the Cubs due to a stomach ailment. Matt Albers will get the start instead.

Our View:This is likely a temporary move. No word on when Burres will make his next start.

Brian Burres allowed three runs on seven hits, walked two and struck out three in 5.2 innings of work, and helped the Orioles climb three games over .500 for the first time since May 21. Burres improved his record to 6-5 with the win.

Our View:Burres gave up two early runs, single tallies in the first and the second and settled down to finesse the aggressive Astros hitters until Matt Albers took over in the sixth. The lefty won't overpower hitters but when he can locate his breaking pitch he's good enough to supply the Orioles and AL-only owners with quality innings.
