The Orioles have removed Dennis Sarfate from the rotation, according to the AP. He went 0-2 with a 10.34 ERA in four starts after making 49 relief appearances.

Our View:Moving Sarfate to the rotation never really made sense anyway. He has the potential to be a nice setup man, but he doesn't feature the repertoire to be a starter.

Dennis Sarfate threw a bullpen session before Wednesday night's game and is preparing to start Saturday against the Tigers, according to the Baltimore Sun. But manager Dave Trembley hasn't fully committed to him getting the start. Trembley said, "I haven't said that he's not going to pitch. Until something happens, he's going to pitch. I don't know that anything's going to happen."

Our View:Sarfate has struggled as a reliever this season, and does not merit fantasy consideration if he ultimately gets the start for Saturday. He currently holds a 5.16 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 61 innings.

Dennis Sarfate pitched even worse than his counterpart (Fausto Carmona) on Monday night. Sarfate allowed seven runs, six earned, in just four innings as he allowed five hits and five walks.

Our View:Sarfate has only started three games in 48 appearances this season, so we'd like to cut him some slack. The guys has great stuff with 62 K in 61 innings, but he has also walked 50 batters, an obviously unhealthy number.

Dennis Sarfate allowed three earned runs on two hits over four innings in Wednesday's 13-3 loss to the Yankees in the Bronx, with three walks and five strikeouts. Most of the damage came on a two-run homer by Bobby Abreu.

Our View:He was handed a loss in his first start of 2008, while replacing Brian Burres in the rotation. Sarafate didn't pitch too poorly in the loss and should remain in the rotation, but shouldn't be considered in anything but deeper AL-only leagues.

MLB.com reports that Dennis Sarfate will replace Brian Burress in the starting rotation and is slated to start on Wednesday. He has made 45 appearances out of the bullpen this season but no starts.

Our View:The right-hander spent most of his Minor League career as a starter and logged a 10-7 record with a 3.67 ERA for Triple-A Nashville as recently as 2006, but he was moved to a full-time reliever last season. It remains to be seen how effective he will be as a starter in the majors.
