Humberto Sanchez, recovering from Tommy John surgery, had a bullpen session Monday, according to the Canadian Press. The righty might be ready for minor league games in mid-June.

Our View:Sanchez has yet to pitch in the Yanks organization since coming over in the winter of 2006 in the Gary Sheffield trade. He had been a pretty highly thought of prospect before the injury bug bit him, so he's certainly worth tracking to see how much of his ability he has left.

Humberto Sanchez, coming back from Tommy John surgery, is scheduled to start throwing off a bullpen mound in three weeks, according to the AP. He could start pitching in minor league games by mid-May. It's possible the Yanks could use Sanchez out of the bullpen at some point in the second half, but it's unlikely he'll make much of a contribution before 2009.

Humberto Sanchez underwent ligament-replacement surgery on his right elbow on Wednesday and will miss the entire 2007 season, the AP reports.

Humberto Sanchez, who is battling inflammation in his right elbow, will start the season with the Yankees extended spring training team, according to the AP. He was one of three minor league pitchers obtained from Detroit for Gary Sheffield during the offseason.
