Tim Lincecum was lit up for four earned runs on four hits over four innings in Tuesday's Cactus League match-up against Cleveland. He had four strikeouts and four walks.

Our View:Lincecum was shelled for four runs in his previous spring outing as well, but the league's best hurler has enough time left to find his form before opening day.

Tim Lincecum struggled again on Thursday, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over just 2.2 innings in his second spring start.

Our View:The reigning NL Cy Young winner now has a 9.82 ERA this spring, which masks how poorly he's pitched considering he's given up seven runs (four earned) in just 3.2 innings. He struggled last spring as well though, and we all know how that season turned out. He's just struggling with his command and working out the kinks right now, so don't be concerned.

Tim Lincecum was knocked around a bit on Wednesday as he gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks in just one inning of work.

Our View:This was the reigning Cy Young's first game action this spring and it didn't go as planned. He started out slow last season too though and we all know how that turned out. He will be on of the top two or three pitchers taken in drafts this year.

According to MLBlogs.com, Tim Lincecum threw an impressive batting practice session on Wednesday and is slated to start the Cactus League opener next Wednesday.

Our View:Lincecum aired out all of his pitches and said that "everything kind of felt where it should have been." He faced Pablo Sandoval, Nate Schierholtz, Aubrey Huff and Buster Posey, and not one of them were able to get a hit off the two-time Cy Young winner. He should be ready to roll for the season opener and will be one of if not the first pitcher taken off draft boards over the next month.

Tim Lincecum, who inked a two-year deal worth $23MM earlier in the week, threw off a mound Thursday for the first time since last season, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Lincecum looked good during his session today, and the team was namely pleased with his curveball. The Giants' ace hurler should be a safe fantasy pick for 2010.
February 16, 2010
According to Henry Schulman on Twitter, Tim Lincecum passed his physical on Tuesday, making his new two-year, $23 million deal with the Giants official.

Our View:No real news here as Lincecum hasn't reported any injury problems in his career. His awkward, violent delivery may lead to arm trouble down the road, but he'll have already likely signed a new deal when that day comes. If ever.

The Giants have reached a two-year, $23 million deal with their ace Tim Lincecum, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

Our View:The deal is pending a physical, which Lincecum should easily pass. Lincecum and the Giants were originally expected to partake in an arbitration hearing today to figure out his 2010 contract, though the hearing was postponed earlier today when the two sides started to progress toward a potential agreement. Giants fans should be elated at their team's securing of arguably the best pitcher in the game for at least the next two years.

The arbitration hearing between the Giants and Tim Lincecum that had been scheduled for today has been delayed as the two sides have started to make a bit of progress toward an agreement, according to Yahoo! Sports' Tim Brown.

Our View:The last figures we heard had Lincecum's camp wanting $13 million for 2010, with the Giants offering $8 million, though the two sides also could be discussing a potential three-year deal in the realm of $40 million. It looks like we'll have to wait at least a few more days before finding out the answer on the ace's next contract.
February 11, 2010
Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman doesn't believe the Giants are "foolish enough" to let their arbitration dispute with ace Tim Lincecum make it all the way to a hearing.

Our View:He thinks they will work out a multi-year deal before tomorrow's showdown. Stay tuned.

In an effort to buy out his final three years of arbitration eligibility, the Giants have offered two-time defending National League Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum a three-year, $37 million deal, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Lincecum's side reportedly promptly counter-proposed a deal worth north of $40 million. The two sides are apparently still negotiating, but seem destined to face off in an arbitration showdown on Friday. Stay tuned.
February 10, 2010
Yahoo! Sports' Tim Brown reports that the Giants and Tim Lincecum are no closer to reaching an agreement on a contract for the 2010 season, and look ready to face off in an arbitration showdown this Friday.

Our View:Lincecum wants $13 million, while San Francisco only wants to pay him $8 million. Considering Timmy Ballgame is coming off of back-to-back Cy Young winning seasons, you would have to think the momentum is on his side. If the Giants win, the system is most likely broken.
February 3, 2010
According to CSNBayArea.com's Mychael Urban, contract talks between the Giants and reigning NL Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum are not going well.

Our View:Lincecum appears destined for a record arbitration hearing. He requested $13 million ($3 million more than the previous record contract given to Ryan Howard), and the Giants countered with just $8 million. Not a slap in the face, but not rich enough for a two-time Cy Young winner. The Giants reportedly tried to get a two-year deal in place with the young hurler to avoid arbitration, but Lincecum's people aren't buying it. He is arbitration eligible for the next four years, so a two-year deal raises doubts in the Giants' system about his durability and would lead to less money for the prized right-hander. They are likely just going to have to buck up and pay what the arbitrator deems appropriate.

Giants superstar pitcher Tim Lincecum could earn as much as $20 million in his arbitration hearing this offseason, according to MLB.com.

Our View:That would shatter all previous arbitration awards, doubling the $10 million awarded to Ryan Howard in 2008. Of course, after winning two straight National League Cy Young awards, Lincecum would seem to deserve (relatively speaking) every penny. Expect fireworks when his hearing is held next month.
