FoxSports.com is reporting that the Twins are interested in trading for Pirates' pitcher Matt Capps. The Twins may also be interested in second baseman Freddy Sanchez and pitcher John Grabow.

Our View:The Pirates have demonstrated that they are not shy about trading away their players, and Capps could improve the Twins' bullpen. A move like that would kill his fantasy value, so Capps' owners should monitor him until the trade deadline.

Matt Capps has avoided a trip to the DL with his bruised right elbow, and is not expected to miss much more time, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He believes he made an "amazing" recovery and he said, "If you'd told me Monday I could pitch by the coming weekend, I would have said you were nuts."

Our View:Capps feels he is good enough to return to the hill, and fantasy owners could get the closer back as early as this weekend when the Pirates battle the Astros at PNC Park.

The Pirates will likely wait until Friday before deciding whether or not to place Matt Capps on the 15-day DL with his deeply bruised right elbow, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:He could not throw Tuesday, and likely will not throw today either due to soreness and swelling. Capps is optimistic he will be able to avoid a trip to the DL, and believes the club has done a good job of icing the ailment.

Updating an earlier report, Matt Capps will be further evaluated after being struck on his pitching elbow by a line drive during Monday's game, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:His X-rays came back negative, but he will be further examined by Cubs' orthopedic surgeon Dr. Stephen Gryzlo at Wrigley Field before today's game. The Pirates' closer should be held out of fantasy lineups until further notice.

Matt Capps exited Monday's game against Chicago when struck on his pitching elbow by a Geovany Soto line drive, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:He was taken to a hospital for X-rays, and his status is yet to be updated. Sean Burnett replaced him as the Pirates' closer when Capps went down.
