Joey Devine (elbow) was able to play catch on Thursday morning and said that he's feeling fine, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:As long as Devine can stay healthy this spring, he could be worth drafting as a late-round flier in either leagues that count holds, or in especially deep leagues as a handcuff to Andrew Bailey.

Joey Devine will be shut down for a few days while dealing with normal tendinitis issues in his right elbow, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Devine should be back before long, though it's tough to feel too comfortable that he'll be able to stay healthy this season. Devine has potentially dominant stuff when healthy and could be next in line to close in Oakland if anything happens to Andrew Bailey, though he remains a major injury risk.

According to Jane Lee on Twitter, Joey Devine threw 30 pitches off a mound on Tuesday to test his injured elbow.

Our View:Devine hopes to face live batters in a couple days, but is also planning to take some time off to treat the tendinitis in his elbow. This is a positive step forward, but still isn't a guarantee that he'll be ready to start the regular season. Stay tuned for more updates.

Joey Devine is believed to be 50/50 to be ready to go for opening day, according to Jeff Fletcher's (AOL Fanhouse) twitter page. He is coming off Tommy John surgery.

Our View:Devine was a great reliever prior to suffering the injury. He did not play in 2009, and he's certainly an injury risk heading into 2010. However, his closer skill set should still be there, so he may be worth stashing away in deep leagues.

According to Jane Lee on Twitter, Joey Devine is way ahead of his rehab schedule and will enter spring training with no restrictions.

Our View:Devine underwent Tommy John surgery last spring and missed all of the 2009 season, but he was a dynamite reliever in 2008. He posted an invisible 0.59 ERA and 0.83 WHIP in 45.2 frames and fanned 9.66 batters per nine innings. He won't steal the closer's job from Andrew Bailey, but will be a valuable setup man and a hot commodity in leagues that count holds.
