Player Notes
December 12, 2009
Ronny Cedeno avoided arbitration with the Pirates by accepting the team's one-year, $1.125 million offer, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:Look for Cedeno to compete with the newly-acquired Bobby Crosby at shortstop this upcoming spring training, though neither will be worth drafting in mixed leagues.
September 29, 2009
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that shortstop Ronny Cedeno could miss the remainder of the season. He is recovering from two injured hamstrings.

Our View:The Pirates won't miss him much as he has hit a mere .208 this season to go with a .256 OBP. He has no fantasy value.
September 26, 2009
Ronny Cedeno has missed Pittsburgh's last two games with two strained hamstrings but will attempt to return to their lineup today, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:Cedeno has played pretty well since being acquired by the Pirates and can further cement his role as the starting shortstop heading into next year with a productive last week of the season.
September 12, 2009
Ronny Cedeno picked up two more hits for Pittsburgh on Saturday, but didn't drive in any runs, as the Pirates lost 4-2 in Houston.

Our View:After hitting just .167 in 59 games for the Mariners this season, Cedeno is now hitting .298 in 36 games in Pittsburgh.
September 9, 2009
Ronny Cedeno hit a three-run homer off former closer Kevin Gregg in the eighth inning of the Pirates' 8-5 loss to the Cubs on Wednesday.

Our View:Cedeno was also 3-for-4 on the day, making Wednesday officially his most productive outing of the season. He raised his average to a barely visible .210.
