The Orange County Register reports that catcher Mike Napoli has avoided arbitration by agreeing on a one-year deal with the Angels.

Our View:Napoli had another nice season behind the plate, hitting .272 with 20 homers and 56 RBI last year. He now has consecutive 20-homer seasons and is a nice power option at a thin position in fantasy leagues.

MLB.com reports that Mike Napoli will start behind the plate for the Angels in Game 2 of the ALCS.

Our View:Napoli gets the call over Jeff Mathis due to the fact that he regularly catches Joe Saunders, who is on the mound tonight. Napoli will provide a bit more pop for the Halos, who managed just one run against CC Sabathia and the Yankees in Game 1.

Mike Napoli will get the nod behind the plate for the Angels in Game 2 on Friday, according to the LA Times. Napoli will start in favor of Jeff Mathis, who made the start in Game 1.

Our View:The Angels must feel like they need as much offensive firepower as possible tonight, because starter Jeff Weaver has pitched considerably better this season with Mathis behind the plate. Weaver has a 3.38 ERA throwing to Mathis compared to a 4.59 ERA with Napoli behind the plate.

Mike Napoli went 2-for-3, scored three runs and hit his 20th homer of the year as the Angels closed out the regular season with a 5-3 win over the A's.

Our View:Napoli now has two consecutive seasons with exactly 20 home runs, but it took him 382 at-bats in 2009 to get there. Last season he needed just 78 games and 227 at-bats to reach the total. Still, he's a great source of power at a position where it comes at a premium.

Mike Napoli hit a three-run homer in the Angels' 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday. It was his only hit in four trips.

Our View:Napoli now has 17 bombs on the season and with his .297 average is one of the better fantasy plays at catcher this season. The long ball was his first this month though.
