Player Notes
September 2, 2008
Anibal Sanchez has had a rough go of it since returning from the DL, and Tuesday was a prime example, as he surrendered six runs in just three innings to the Braves.

Our View:Sanchez has not been very good since his return from shoulder surgery. He has given up 14 runs in his last 14.1 innings.

Anibal Sanchez will face the Brewers on Tuesday as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery , according to the Marlins Official Website. "I want to finish strong and have that carry over for a good season next year."

Our View:Sanchez is 2-3 with a 4.46 ERA and 1.49 WHIP this season in six starts as he continues to search for the form that led to a 10-3 record, 2.83 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 2006.
August 16, 2008
Anibal Sanchez improved to 2-2 with an effective performance against the Cubs on Saturday. He allowed three hits and one run over 5.1 innings. Sanchez walked five and struck out six.

Our View:It wasn't the cleanest performance, but the Marlins will take it. Sanchez has looked pretty good in four starts since coming back from right shoulder surgery. The walks are a bit troublesome, but fantasy owners should be able to trust him in matchups against weaker opponents.
August 11, 2008
Anibal Sanchez had a quality start on Monday allowing three runs in seven innings to the Cardinals but he still lost and fell to 1-2.

Our View:Sanchez struck out eight and only walked two and has allowed eight runs in his three starts (4.08). Anibal also has 14 K and seven walks, so he has done a solid job of throwing strikes leading to an average WHIP (1.36).
August 6, 2008
Anibal Sanchez looked rusty in his second start back from the DL Wednesday, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out two.

Our View:Sanchez, who is coming back from Tommy John surgery, will have a few of these types of outings while he regains his command. He should not be used as a mixed league option right now.
