The Orioles avoided arbitration with Matt Albers by signing him to a one-year deal on Saturday, according to MASN Sports.

Our View:Albers was not very effective last season, and the Orioles will be hoping that he can regain his much more effective form from 2008.

Matt Albers has been recalled by the Orioles from Triple-A Norfolk, according to TSN.

Our View:Albers is 2-4 with a 5.85 ERA and 1.78 WHIP over 52.1 innings of relief with Baltimore this season. He is not worth a look outside of deeper fantasy leagues.

MLB.com is reporting that the Baltimore Orioles have optioned pitcher Matt Albers to Triple-A Norfolk. In a corresponding move, the team recalled pitcher Kam Mikolio to take his spot on the roster.

Our View:Albers was 2-4 with a 5.85 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP this season, so the O's surely won't miss him too badly. Albers just has average stuff, and should not be considered a fantasy option regardless of whether he is a starter or a reliever.

The AP reports that the Orioles have recalled reliever Matt Albers to replace Adam Eaton on their roster.

Our View:Albers was a solid option out of the pen last season, but he struggled in his first eight appearances this season. In 2009, he currently holds a 7.71 ERA and 2.36 WHIP.

Our View:Melvin Mora has been activated from the DL, and the Orioles demoted Albers to make room on the roster. Albers struggled this season, as he allowed eight earned runs and six walks over 9.1 innings of relief.
