Player Notes
January 19, 2010
The Orioles and Luke Scott have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.05 million deal, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Scott belted a career-high 25 home runs last season. He'll never be a help to your batting average but does have legitimate power and should continue to play nearly every day for Baltimore in 2010, whether it be in the outfield, at first base or at designated hitter.

The Orioles are believed to be willing to trade Luke Scott this offseason, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:He had career highs in both home runs and runs batted in last season, with 25 and 77, respectively. They would like a middle-of-the-order hitter, but obviously Scott would not be able to fetch anything spectacular in that department. He's most likely to be flipped for bullpen help or a back-end of the rotation starter.
September 29, 2009
Luke Scott went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI in tonight's 3-1 loss at Tampa Bay.

Our View:The Orioles had nine hits in the game, but Scott was their lone source of scoring. Scott has a hit in five straight games, and collected his 77th RBI of 2009.
September 26, 2009
Luke Scott went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in a 9-8 loss to the Indians on Saturday night.

Our View:Scott now has 25 jacks on the season and has popped five in the final month to go along with 15 RBI. However, his .259 average needs work.
September 20, 2009
Luke Scott went 1-for-3 with a home run, a run scored, and two RBI in the Orioles' 9-3 loss to the Red Sox. Scott has 24 home runs on the season.

Our View:Scott couldn't do it all by himself today, but he continued his surprising 2009 campaign with another home run. Scott has been a solid fantasy play all season, and he should continue to be so for the next few weeks.
