Brandon McCarthy had a stellar outing on Sunday, but was denied the win when the Rangers bullpen imploded against the Rays for seven runs in the final two innings of a 7-6 loss.

Our View:For his part, McCarthy allowed two runs (zero earned) on six hits and a walk over 7.2 innings. He fanned three and kept the Rays in the park all game, but could have used a well deserved win. He hasn't won in his last three starts despite pitching pretty well.

Our View:McCarthy was dealt a loss, and is now 2-2 over four starts in September. He gave up 10 earned runs over his last three outings.

Our View:McCarthy did not pitch well tonight, but still earned his seventh win, thanks to the hot bats of his teammates. The Rangers had 18 hits in the game.

Our View:McCarthy looked good tonight while fresh off the DL following his recovery from a stress fracture in his right shoulder. He should earn more starts in the Rangers' rotation, and is worth targeting as a flier for deeper leagues.
