Player Notes
January 20, 2010
Santiago Casilla has signed a minor-league contract with the Oakland A's.

Our View:Casilla was not very good for the A's in 2009, posting a 5.96 ERA in 48.1 innings pitched. He likely won't be of much use to the Giants this season.

Santiago Casilla has been activated from the 15-day DL following his recovery from a sprained right knee, according to TSN. Pitcher Jeff Gray was sent to Triple-A Sacramento as the adjoining move.

Our View:Casilla is a rock-solid reliever, but only holds value in leagues that feature middle men.

Santiago Casilla (sprained knee) will be activated from the DL Friday after throwing nine pitches in a perfect inning with Triple-A Sacramento Tuesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Casilla is a solid reliever, but issued six walks over 11.1 innings of work prior to going down. Hopefully his control will be fine upon his return.

Santiago Casilla (sprained right knee) is set for a rehab appearance with Single-A Stockton today, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. He will then pitch at Triple-A Sacramento a few days later.

Our View:Casilla is eligible to come off the DL on Thursday. He looks to be available when the A's start a three-game series with the Tigers at Comerica Park Friday.

Our View:Casilla will likely begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend, and return from the DL about a week from now when the A's start a three-game set with the Tigers at Comerica Park.
