Kendry Morales hit his second home run of the year on Thursday in the Angels' 6-4 win over the A's.

Our View:The Angels are giving Morales a good look late in the season just in case the team can't sign Mark Teixeira. Morales hit 16 home runs in the minors this season and has showed some power in the big leagues.

If the Angels cannot re-sign Mark Teixeira in the offseason, the team would likely turn to Kendry Morales to be it's full-time first baseman, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Morales hit .352 with 16 home runs in the minors this season, so he can clearly hit. He does have some things to work on, because in 338 at-bats, he walked just 20 times. Of course, he only struck out 44 times, but with improved plate discipline comes improved numbers.

The Angels have called up Kendry Morales from Triple-A Salt Lake, MLB.com reports.

Our View:Morales is no stranger to the route between Salt Lake and Los Angeles. He tends to rip the ball at Triple-A and spend much of his major league time on the bench. The Angels are dealing with some injuries, but we don't expect Morales to see regular at-bats.
August 15, 2008
Kendry Morales has been recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, according to the OC Register. The team placed infielder Maicer Izturis on the 15-day DL as the corresponding move.

Our View:Morales has been hitting very well at Salt Lake, with a .330 average, 12 homers, and 52 RBI over 64 games. He would be worth a look in deeper AL-only leagues, but isn't likely to get many at-bats with Mark Teixeira at first base.
May 5, 2008
Kendry Morales blasted two home runs for Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday, giving him five for the season.

Our View:With as many good hitters as the Angels have at the major league level, it is easy to forget about Morales at Triple-A. The Cuban is not off to a great start for the Salt Lake Bees, hitting only .270, but he does wait in the wings should the Angels need a DH or first baseman and has shown the ability to be an impact bat.
