According to TSN.ca, the Angels have recalled infielder Howie Kendrick from Triple-A Salt Lake. In a corresponding move, the team optioned infielder Sean Rodriguez.

Our View:Kendrick has been hitting the ball well in Triple-A, with a .346 average and 11 RBI in 20 games. The team feels like he is ready to come back, and hopefully he has gotten himself back on track. It might be worth it to take a flier on him if you need a middle infielder, as he still has the potential to be very good.

Howie Kendrick has been optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake by the Angels, according to TSN. Infielder Sean Rodriguez was recalled as the adjoining move.

Our View:Kendrick is only hitting .231 this season, and the Angels sent him down to work on his swing. His fantasy stock was low prior to his demotion.

According to the LA Times, Angels' manager Mike Scioscia has considered sending struggling second baseman Howie Kendrick down to the minors.

Our View:Kendrick, who hit .193 in May, is batting just .227 with a meager .267 on base percentage. The talented second baseman has looked lost at the plate, has struggled in the field and has made costly mistakes on the base paths. The Angels appear to be losing patience with him and think a trip to Triple-A could get him back on track.

Howie Kendrick was a late scratch Sunday for the Angels, according to MLBlogs.com. He will be replaced by Robb Quinlan, who will play third while Chone Figgins shifts to second.

Our View:Kendrick's hamstring started acting up during the pregame today, so it was best that he got scratched. The injury doesn't seem too serious, but hamstrings are tricky so it's hard to tell how long he will be out. The most likely scenario is that he will be back soon.

Howie Kendrick was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI in Friday's 4-1 win over the Royals.

Our View:Kendrick has started slow this season, and for a man known for his ability to hit for average is slogging along hitting just .255. He has showed more power than expected though with four homers and 19 RBI this season.
