Player Notes

Howie Kendrick had four hits on Friday night to boost his average up to .333 over 111 AB this season.

Our View:No one can doubt this man's ability to hit, but with a track record of health that not even J.D. Drew would envy, we certainly would love to see Howie stay healthy for an extended stretch so that we can truly see what he can do.

Howie Kendrick had two hits, scored a run, and knocked one in for the Angels from the seventh hole in the order on Monday night.

Our View:Kendrick has really struggled at the plate hitting .213 since the start of May in 16 games, but once he puts together a few solid outings he could find himself hitting near the top of the Angels order which would obviously increase his value.

Howie Kendrick is out of the lineup on Sunday. The Angels are giving him a day off after two straight starts, the Orange County Register reports. "We want him to feel his way back into it," manager Mike Scioscia says. "I think his hamstring is fine. Everything seems to be where it needs to be." Sean Rodriguez will start in his place.

Our View:Fantasy owners can still get Howie back into their lineups for the week ahead. Heck, maybe he'll even stick around for three or four in a row.

Howie Kendrick has finally been activated from the DL, according to the AP. Kendrick had been on the shelf for 42 games after straining his left hamstring on April 13, and he said, "Just being hurt is frustrating because you want to be playing. Having to miss this much time and not be out there for this long, it’s just been rough. Hopefully I can stay together and stay out on the field and help us win ballgames. That’s the biggest thing." As an adjoining move, Chone Figgins has unfortunately landed back on the 15-day DL due to irritation in his ailing hamstring.

Our View:Manager Mike Sciosca plans to work Kendrick back in slowly, but noted that his hamstring is 100% healthy again.

Howie Kendrick played on back-to-back days for Triple-A Salt Lake, according to CBSsports.com. He played seven innings at second base on Wednesday, and went 1-for-3 with an RBI single.

Our View:That was the first time that he played on consecutive days since injuring his hamstring on April 13. Manager Mike Sciosca believes Kendrick could be ready to return to the Angels this weekend.
