Player Notes
April 23, 2008
The Seattle Mariners report outfielder Mike Morse underwent reconstructive should surgery yesterday and will be out for the remainder of the season, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Morse injured the shoulder as he landed on his left shoulder in an attempt to make a diving catch against the Oakland Athletics. The resulting injuries included a torn labrum. Morse is expected to require 6 months for rehabilitation.
April 14, 2008
The Mariners placed Mike Morse on the 15-day DL on Monday, one day after he dislocated his left shoulder, the AP reports.

Our View:This news shouldn't affect fantasy teams, although some AL-only owners may have taken a flier on Morse after his hot spring.
April 13, 2008
Mike Morse suffered a left shoulder subluxation on Sunday. He will undergo an MRI on Sunday night, the Seattle Times reports.

Our View:The Mariners picked up a rash of injuries over the weekend, and Morse may need to go on the DL simply to help cover depth at other spots. We'll update his status when more is known.
March 31, 2008
Mike Morse is believed to platoon with Brad Wilkerson in the Mariners' outfield this season, according to the Seattle Times. Morse can hit as he maintained a .444 average over 18 at-bats in 2007, but his fantasy value is limited.
March 21, 2008
Mike Morse has not earned a bench job with the Mariners despite his .525 batting average this spring, according to the Seattle Times. The utilityman didn't do himself any favors by hitting into the 10th-inning double-play and botching a pair of late fly balls in the outfield during Thursday's game. Morse is out of options and still seems like a good bet to make the opening day roster, but it appears it's not set in stone.
