According to the Dallas Morning News, the Rangers are expected to hire former Rockies manager Clint Hurdle as the organization's new hitting coach.

Our View:With incumbent Rudy Jaramillo bolting for a three-year deal with the Cubs, the Rangers seem to have settled on Hurdle. He appears to be the top candidate out of a group that included Thad Bosley, Rusty Greer and Gerald Perry.
October 14, 2009
After 15 seasons as the team's hitting coach, Rudy Jaramillo will not be returning to the Rangers in 2010, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Our View:Let the frenzy for his services begin. The Mets are the most obvious candidate, but will surely face very stiff competition for the unquestioned best hitting coach in baseball.

Ian Kinsler went 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the Rangers 4-3 loss to the Mariners on Sunday.

Our View:Kinsler showed a tremendous boost in power this season with 31 homers (a career high), but his numbers dipped significantly in almost every other category. The elite second baseman was a nice source of pop and speed (31), but his .253 average was more than disappointing.
September 25, 2009
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer off Grant Balfour in Friday's 8-3 win over the Rays at Rangers Ballpark.

Our View:Kinsler reached 30 homers for the first time in his career, and is now tied with Marlon Byrd for the team-lead with 83 RBI.
September 24, 2009
Ian Kinsler went 1-for-5 with two runs scored in the Rangers' 12-3 loss to the A's. Kinsler is hitting .249 on the season.

Our View:Kinsler hit in the leadoff role today, and he found a way to score two of the three Ranger runs. His average has been a bit of a disappointment this season, but his 29 homers and 29 stolen bases are both plenty excellent numbers.
