Player Notes
September 9, 2008
Rajai Davis went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, one RBI, and two runs in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Tigers.

Our View:Davis is on a bit of a hot streak right now. He brings a lot of speed (but not enough patience) to the top of the lineup and should continue to see regular action over the final weeks. Davis is a decent source of steals for AL-only fantasy leaguers.

After three Baltimore pitchers combined to issue six walks and hit a batter, the fourth pitcher of the inning, Randor Bierd, yielded Rajai Davis' first career grand slam. He had entered earlier in the eighth as a pinch runner for Jack Cust.

Our View:It was Davis' third home run in 173 at-bats this season. Like most of Oakland's offense, Davis does not provide much fantasy value aside from his 25 stolen bases.
September 4, 2008
Rajai Davis had a hit, scored two runs, and stole a base on Thursday night from the leadoff spot for the Athletics.

Our View:Davis has been a godsend in AL-only leagues with those 21 steals even though he is batting just .265 for the Athletics. However, he has done that damage in only 155 AB telling you he could be a big time steals guy, just like Wily Taveras, if he could ever rack up 500 AB.

The Athletics played with passion early and held on despite several scares from the Angels, winning 6-5 with the help of leadoff outfielder Rajai Davis. Davis went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, his 22nd and 23rd of the season, to total two runs scored.

Our View:Davis is playing out of his mind, hitting .438 through August with five stolen bases. He needs to turn them into runs, but the potential to start making noise is there.

Rajai Davis , the A's second option in center field since Chris Denorfia went on the disabled list, is starting and batting leadoff tonight when Oakland visits Cleveland.

Our View:Davis' strength is his speed, but he can't contribute if he doesn't get on base (.190).

Rajai Davis, recently claimed off waivers from the Giants, is starting in center field against the Rangers on Saturday night and is slotted ninth in the order.

Our View:Davis gives the team a third option in center field along with Ryan Sweeney and Chris Denorfia. He offers stolen base potential to AL-only owners but little else. In 19 games between San Francisco and Oakland this year, the speedster has score four run, recorded two RBI, five stolen bases and is hitting .172.

Rajai Davis, who was claimed off waivers from the Giants on Wednesday, and registered two singles and a triple in his Athletics' debut a day later, is thrilled to be in Oakland after opening the season with San Francisco in a 1-for-18 drought, according to MLB.com. Davis said, "I'm just excited about the opportunity to be here. I like to think about this as a new start." Manager Bob Geren said Davis will start occasionally and see plenty of action as a pinch-runner and late-game defensive replacement.

Our View:Davis is off to a good start in Oakland, and is worth targeting in AL Only leagues, especially due to his speed (he has four stolen bases).
April 24, 2008
Rajai Davis had a great debut with the A's picking up three hits and scoring a run from the ninth spot in the order.

Our View:It remains to be seen just how much playing time Davis will pick up given the plethora of bats that the team has to fit into the outfield, but he figures to at least be a useful pickup in AL Only leagues because of his speed.
April 23, 2008
Rajai Davis was claimed off waivers by the A's on Wednesday, according to the AP. To make room on their roster, the A's demoted pitcher Kirk Saarloos by designating him for assignment.

Our View:It was a pipe dream for the Giants to expect him to make it through without being claimed. Davis joins a very crowded A's outfield and doesn't appear to have a great chance for playing time, especially if the team does sign Frank Thomas which will mean that Jack Cust will have to play in left field.
April 19, 2008
Rajai Davis was designated for assignment on Saturday, this according to the AP. To fill his roster spot, infielder Emmanuel Burriss was recalled.

Our View:The Giants appear to be in flux, what an understatement, and the decision has been made to go with Fred Lewis in the outfield which basically left Davis without any playing time. Davis could have some value in the right spot, he does have four SB in very limited playing time, but it doesn't appear that his future is in San Francisco.
