Tadahito Iguchi, who was recently released by the Padres, has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Phillies, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Our View:He is expected to join his new club prior to Saturday's game against the Mets. He should not be considered for fantasy rosters, and will be ineligible for the postseason should the Phillies win the NL East or clinch the wildcard.
August 31, 2008
The Padres will release second baseman Tadahito Iguchi and pitcher Brett Tomko on Monday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Our View:Neither Iguchi nor Tomko should be on fantasy teams at this point. The Padres will be better served by using youngsters.
July 14, 2008
Tadahito Iguchi, who is recovering from a separated right shoulder, will hit off a tee on Wednesday, according to the North County Times.

Our View:Iguchi will join the Padres on their 11-game road trip after the All-Star break. He is coming around well and feeling good, but is still a few weeks away from playing.

Tadahito Iguchi has shed his right arm sling and has begun jogging. The second baseman suffered a separated right shoulder on June 5. "He's started to do some very easy mobilization with his shoulder," manager Bud Black tells MLB.com. "He can't run [pump his arms]. But he can kind of do what he's doing. He is still a ways away." Initial reports called for Iguchi to miss six-to-eight weeks.

Our View:Edgar Gonzalez continues to get most of the start at second base. Sadly, youngster Matt Antonelli wasn't ready to step up and fill the void. The Padres don't have a huge incentive to rush Iguchi back, other than maybe to trade him by July 31.
June 6, 2008
Second baseman Tadahito Iguchi was placed on the disabled list with a separated right shoulder, this according to MLB.com. He suffered the injury in the seventh inning of the Padres' 2-1 victory over the Mets at PETCO Park on Thursday night.

Our View:Edgar Gonzalez entered the game for Iguchi and will likely get the start at second base on Friday.
