Adam Jones, who is recovering from a fractured left foot, felt good after taking live batting practice Sunday, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:He is making favorable progress, but Manager Dave Trembley noted that he won't be activated from the DL until Monday, at the earliest. Jones still has to show that he can run the bases and make throws from the outfield. Trembley also wants Jones to hit live pitching twice, likely in simulated games. The team is waiting until September (which starts next Monday) when rosters expand to potentially bring him back.
August 23, 2008
Adam Jones, who is nursing a fractured left foot on the DL, is expected to hit outside today, according to the Baltimore Sun. It is a small step in his recovery and manager Dave Trembley said, "He's not going to be, in the next three or four or five days, activated. No, no, no. He is going to be a guy that's going to tell you he's ready, but we are going to take the other, conservative route on him."

Our View:Jones likely will participate in a simulated game sometime next week but won't go on a minor league rehab assignment because the affiliates' seasons are ending. There is a chance he won't be back this season.
August 19, 2008
Adam Jones is not using crutches or walking around with a boot on his fractured left foot, and could resume baseball activities by the end of the week, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Jones has had a solid if unspectacular rookie year for Baltimore, putting up a .279 average, seven home runs and 50 RBI. AL-only owners could get him back sometime in September.
August 6, 2008
Adam Jones will wear a walking boot on his fractured left foot for two weeks, and then he will undergo another CT scan, according to the Baltimore Sun. Manager Dave Trembley said, "I think he's looking at a minimum of four weeks out. It's a terrible thing for him and our team. I think the world of him. I hope he gets it taken care of."

Our View:This a tough loss for the Orioles, but they are not likely to climb back into the pennant race at 13 games back in the AL East with 50 contests to go. Jones has a bright future with the club, and may be shut down for the rest of the season to play it safe.
August 5, 2008
The Orioles have placed outfielder Adam Jones on the 15-day DL due to a fractured left foot, the Baltimore Sun confirms. The move is retroactive to August 3.

Our View:Early reports suggest the young outfielder could miss the rest of the season, but we're waiting to hear a more official timeline presented. Jones had been hitting very well since the start of June, so this is a bummer.
August 5, 2008
Adam Jones is unlikely to play in the three-game series with the Angels, according to the Baltimore Sun. Head coach Dave Trembley said, "Obviously, he's not going to play tonight, and I would think if the symptoms continue, it's looking more and more like he may not play in this series"

Our View:Jones said his foot didn't feel much better than it did the previous day when he woke up barely able to walk.
August 4, 2008
Adam Jones may be put on the disabled list soon with his injured left foot, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Jones hit a foul ball off his foot a couple of days ago, and he has been hobbled ever since. Jones has had a nice rookie season, hitting .279 with 50 RBI. He belongs in AL-only leagues, but doesn't do quite enough (yet) to be a good fit in mixed leagues.
August 3, 2008
Adam Jones had x-rays on his left foot that were ruled as inconclusive after fouling a ball off his foot on Saturday, according to TSN. As a result, Jones will have a CT scan on Monday to determine what the best course of action will be.

Our View:Jones was unable to walk on his foot on Sunday, and this sounds like it could be a DL type injury, too bad to since Jones is batting .326 over his last 31 games.
August 2, 2008
Adam Jones went 3-for-5 and scored two runs in Saturday's 3-1 win over Seattle at Safeco Field. All three of his hits were singles.

Our View:Jones has been solid as he scored nine runs over his last seven games, and should remain active in AL-only leagues.
July 29, 2008
Adam Jones has been swinging a hot bat since the middle of May. His 3-6 performance last night virtually assured him of putting up his second straight month with a better than .800 OPS.

Our View:His talent is undeniable, ride the O's outfielder until the wheels fall off.
July 28, 2008
Adam Jones was 3-for-6 with a home run, a triple and five RBI against the Yankees on Monday. He also scored three times in the Orioles 13-4 victory.

Our View:Jones has shown spurts that let us understand why he was considered such a can't-miss prospect but he continues to be very inconsistent. Expect his production to improve as he continues to adjust to major league pitchers.
July 21, 2008
Adam Jones went 2-for-4 with a homer, single, two runs, and two RBI on Monday against the Jays. He is hitting .333 with two homers and 14 RBI over 16 games this month.

Our View:Fantasy owners, especially in keeper leagues, have to like the progression Jones is showing. He turns 23 on August 1, and he has a high ceiling.
July 21, 2008
Adam Jones will start and hit second against the Blue Jays on Monday. He reported no issues with his sore right ankle. "It doesn't bother me one bit," Jones informs the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Jones is hitting .323 since the start of June and hopefully the ankle won't affect his bat. We're beginning to see that potential shine through.
July 20, 2008
Adam Jones has been scratched from Sunday's lineup after tweaking his ankle during Saturday action, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:Jay Payton will start in center field in his place. Jones was experiencing some swelling and the team decided to hold him out. Consider him day-to-day.
July 17, 2008
Adam Jones has reached base safely in 17 straight games. He had two hits on Thursday against Detroit.

Our View:If Jones is on your waiver wire he may be worth picking up. His batting average is at the highest point it has been all season and it appears that he is getting more comfortable with major league pitching.
July 6, 2008
Adam Jones went 3-for-5 with an RBI on Sunday.

Our View:He is hitting .450 in his last 10 games. He is getting more comfortable at the plate and could be valuable in the second half, especially if he can increase his stolen base production which stands at seven.
July 4, 2008
Adam Jones helped lead the Orioles to a 10-4 win over the Rangers on Friday, as he went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Both of his hits went for singles.

Our View:He extended his hitting streak to eight games, and recorded two RBI in three of his last four outings. He is worth targeting if still available on the waiver wire.
June 2, 2008
Adam Jones drove in a career-high three RBI on Monday night thanks to a bases-loaded double. It was his third straight game with a run batted in.

Our View:Jones hasn't lived up to his potential this year, but we have to remember he's only 22. We still like his upside in keeper leagues.
May 18, 2008
Adam Jones went 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Orioles on Sunday in their 2-1 loss to the Nationals.

Our View:Jones has failed, miserably, to perform at anywhere near the level that was hoped for this year (.241-2-11-14-4). Still he has played solid defense and the team is committed to him, so don't look for him to be removed from the lineup anytime soon.
May 7, 2008
Adam Jones was given the day off on Wednesday simply to receive a day off, according to MLB.com. Brian Roberts was also given the day off. "It didn't matter if they were 3-for-3 or 4-for-4 [Tuesday] night," said manager Dave Trembley. "They were not going to start today."

Our View:Jones has satisfied the Orioles with his work so far, but his fantasy owners were hoping for more from Jones than a .233-2-10-11-3 line through 116 AB. Jones posses 20/20 potential, but until he learns to control the strike zone a bit better, his average will likely lag behind his other numbers.
May 1, 2008
Adam Jones went 1-for-3 and hit a two-run homer in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Tampa Bay.

Our View:Jones has two homers and 10 RBI over 28 games. He has failed to make a big impact so far this season, but he still has loads of potential, and you could be rewarded for your patience if you can afford to hold him on your roster.
April 30, 2008
Adam Jones scored a run, had a hit and picked up a walk for the Orioles on Wednesday night.

Our View:Jones has failed to make a splash in the early going with only one home run and eight RBI, but he also hasn't fallen on his face either as some youngsters do. Continue to be patient with him, you just might be rewarded.
April 17, 2008
Adam Jones singled in the game-winning run in the 10th inning, capping a late comeback that gave the Baltimore Orioles a 6-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night.

Our View:Jones was 1-for-4 on the day striking out twice.
April 14, 2008
Adam Jones went 3-for-3 with three singles, a walk, and a stolen base on Monday night. He was also caught stealing.

Our View:Jones struck out four times on Sunday, and it was good to see him bounce back so quickly. The young outfielder is talented, but we're likely to see a lot of ups and downs in 2008.
April 14, 2008
Adam Jones will be back in the lineup on Monday despite going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts on Sunday, the Baltimore Sun confirms.

Our View:Jones is off to a bit of a rough start following a solid spring, but the Orioles have no reason not to stick with him. Adam has a long future in their outfield, and they'll have to deal with the ups and downs that will likely come throughout 2008.
April 10, 2008
Adam Jones went 2-for-4 hitting from the leadoff spot in the first game of a double header against the Rangers. The Birds lost the game, 3-1, and their six game winning streak in the process. It was Jones' first appearance at the top of the lineup after batting eighth in every game this season. It was Jones's first appearance at the top of the lineup after batting eighth in every game this season.
April 8, 2008
Adam Jones is reportedly going to be brought along slowly and not overwhelmed early, according to the Washington Post. Manager Trembley noted, "The guy who needs to be protected against the better pitching in this league is Jones. He's going to have his moments when he's very good; he's going to have his moments where he's going to get anxious and chase pitches out of the strike zone. And when I see that coming, whether it's an 0-for-8 or 0-for-12 or 2-for-15, I gotta get him out. I don't worry about Adam Jones makeup-wise. I'm just thinking, let's do what's right for this guy. Let's not have him hitting .158 on May 15." He was the prized acquisition in the deal that shipped Erik Bedard to Seattle, and this explains why Jones was out of the lineup against young ace Felix Hernandez on Sunday.
April 2, 2008
Adam Jones went 2-for-4 tonight in the orioles' 9-6 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Jones was a monster on offense, picking up his first RBI of the year as well as his first stolen base and run scored.
March 18, 2008
Orioles skipper Dave Trembley announced this morning that ex-Mariner Adam Jones will start in center field on opening day, this according to the Baltimore Sun. The news isn't a surprise, only the timing of the announcement. Currently, Jones is an AL-only starting candidate and a mixed league reserve in most fantasy formats.
March 7, 2008
Adam Jones sat out of Friday's preseason game due to his stiff back, according to the Baltimore Sun. "They told me he could play today but I'm going to hold him," manager Dave Trembley said. Jones left Thursday's game due to the ailment, but it sounds like he could be back in the mix over the weekend.
March 6, 2008
Adam Jones was forced to leave the Orioles game on Thursday due to back stiffness, this according to MLB.com. "If it had been a regular-season game, I definitely would have kept playing," said Jones. "But it's Spring Training, and when you feel discomfort, you definitely take yourself out and get some treatment." We will take Jones at his word here, but we will certainly be keeping a close eye on him over the next week or so to see if there are any lingering effects.
March 4, 2008
Adam Jones was 3-for-3 at the plate on Tuesday, which raised his spring batting average up to .500. The O's are counting on the offseason acquistion to be in their lineup when the regular season begins, and so far, he's proving to be up to the task.
February 27, 2008
Adam Jones may have been nicked up on Tuesday, but he bounced back on Wednesday as he had two hits including a grand slam, this according to the Baltimore Sun. Jones made a mistake in the field, but he was aggressive on the bases, which impressed the team. Barring a catastrophic failure this spring, Jones figures to be in the club's lineup on opening day.
February 26, 2008
Adam Jones was clipped on his leg by a line drive while attempting a steal during Tuesday's intrasquad scrimmage, according to the Baltimore Sun. Jones also got up gingerly after misplaying a ball hit to center field, but he said after the contest that he was physically fine. Jones ended the day going 0-1 with two walks.
February 19, 2008
The Orioles expect Adam Jones, who came over in the Erik Bedard trade, to be their starting center fielder, according to the Baltimore Sun. However, Jones is going into spring training with the idea that he has to win a job. "I haven't proved anything in my eyes at this level," said Jones. "I have to produce with the team that I'm with. So far, I haven't produced anything to Baltimore, so I have a lot to prove." Tike Redman, Chris Roberson and Jay Payton are the O's other candidates in center, but the supremely talented Jones will have to really screw up over the next six weeks to lose out on a starting spot.
February 8, 2008
The Orioles acquired Adam Jones, left-handed reliever George Sherrill and pitching prospects Chris Tillman, Tony Butler and Kam Mickolio from the Mariners Friday in exchange for Erik Bedard. Jones was the M's top prospect and will compete for a starting job in the outfield.
February 4, 2008
Mariners outfielder Adam Jones traveled to Baltimore on Sunday, presumably to undergo a physical examination that originally was scheduled for Jan. 29, a source told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. A clean bill of health would be the last hurdle standing between the Mariners and Orioles completing their long-rumored Erik Bedard trade.
January 31, 2008
The Seattle Times reports that there is absolutely no truth to the rumors that Adam Jones has a degenerative hip condition, and that both the Mariners and Orioles are laughing that rumor off "emphatically."
January 30, 2008
A Baltimore radio station is the likely source of a rumor that suggests the reason the Orioles are getting second thoughts about acquiring prospect Adam Jones as the centerpiece of a package for star lefty Erik Bedard is that they suspect Jones suffers from a degenerative hip condition. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that the rumor is completely unsubstantiated. Mariners GM Bill Bavasi chose not to discuss the matter, saying: "All I can tell you is that we brought Adam Jones home from Venezuela [for a physical]. Beyond that, we're not saying anything."
January 15, 2008
Adam Jones was held out of Saturday and Sunday's games in Venezuela over the weekend, which led many to speculate he was close to being dealt to Baltimore in a package for Erik Bedard, according to the Seattle Times. He was back in the lineup on Monday, however, so a deal doesn't appear to be imminent. The Mariners would not comment on Jones' absence over the weekend, but the talks between the two clubs are still thought to be ongoing.
