Brian Bannister won his ninth game of the year Wednesday night against the Tigers. In six innings Bannister surrendered seven hits but didn't give up a run in the Royals' 10-4 win.

Our View:It was a good game for Bannister but it has been a rough season for the right-hander. Bannister has an ERA of 5.76 and has lost 16 games.

Royals pitcher Brian Bannister has not won a game in 12 starts, but the team thinks he has gotten better in the last eight, according to Royals.com. "When he was going through the bad streak, he had multiple bad innings and multiple bad starts. He stopped that as of probably four outings ago," Royals manager Trey Hillman said.

Our View:Hey, he hasn't won in 12 starts, but it's good to know he's getting closer! No matter the spin the Royals try to throw on it, Bannister has been awful, and fantasy owners know better than to use him.

Brian Bannister allowed four runs on Thursday, though only one run was earned in his seven inning no-decision against the Athletics.

Our View:This was Bannister's second straight "quality start" after allowing 18 runs over 16 innings in his previous three outings, but he is still not someone you want in your lineup if you are looking to make a late season push given his 14 loses and 5.56 ERA.

The Royals' and Oakland Athletics game on Wednesday night was postponed because of rain. A doubleheader was scheduled for Thursday at Kauffman Stadium.

Our View:Brian Bannister will start the first game and Kyle Davies the second game. The A's rotation will remain the same. Dana Eveland in the first game and Dan Meyer in the second.

Once again the Royals suffered the disappointing loss, falling 3-2 to the Rangers, and once again the lack of offense leaves the pitching without support. RHP Brian Bannister was the victim this time, going 6 2/3 innings to allow three runs (two earned) on six hits with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Our View:Bannister moves to 7-14 on the season with a 5.75 ERA. This is his fifth consecutive loss with six losses over his last seven starts. In those seven starts, he has allowed 27 combined earned runs (10 coming in one game versus the Yankees) with the nine homers surrendered over his last four starts serving as a serious worry.
