With Macier Izturis missing his fourth straight game due to injury, Erick Aybar had two hits and scored twice for the Angels.

Our View:Aybar has hits in 6-straight appearances and is a useful spare part in AL Only leagues, albeit one with absolutely no upside.

The Angels have activated infielder Erick Aybar from the 15-day disabled list, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:Aybar landed on the DL when he dislocated his right pinky finger diving for a ball in the first inning of Anaheim's 3-1 victory over Toronto on May 20. Before the injury, Aybar hit .270 with 16 RBI and 21 runs scored in 43 games. To make room for Aybar, the Angels optioned infielder Sean Rodriguez to Triple-A Salt Lake. Rodriguez hit just .185 in 22 games with the big club this season.

Erick Aybar hit again on Friday and took ground balls, the Los Angeles Times reports. He could start a minor league rehab assignment soon. Aybar is out due to a dislocated right pinky finger.

Our View:Maicer Izturis has been on fire lately and Howie Kendrick is healthy, so Aybar may not see much playing time when he's ready. The way it's gone for the Angels this year, though, Erick won't have to wait long until an injury opens up time.

Erick Aybar, who is recovering from a dislocated right pinkie finger, took batting practice on Wednesday and could start a minor league rehab assignment next week, according to the LA Times. Manager Mike Sciosca said, "Erick has cleared one hurdle, which he needed to do. If everything goes well with his workouts, he'll start on rehab next week."

Our View:The shortstop was hitting .270 over 43 games, with one homer, 16 RBI, 21 runs scored, and five stolen bases. He had nine doubles and one triple. The team is missing his speed, but his timetable to return should be determined soon.

Erick Aybar took soft toss on Tuesday and could engage in batting practice soon, MLB.com reports. The middle infielder dislocated his right pinkie on May 21.

Our View:It sounds like Aybar is at least one week away from thinking about a return to the Angels lineup. His timetable should become more clear as this week continues, though.
