The Pirates jumped out to an early 5-0 lead against the Reds, but thanks to Joey Votto, the Reds did not go away easily. Votto hit his 17th home run early in the game and also drove in the game-winning run in the eighth inning.

Our View:Votto's average is getting closer and closer to the .300 mark and his power numbers continue to grow. Votto will be a solid contributor for any fantasy team.

Joey Votto was 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run in Wednesday's loss to Pittsburgh.

Our View:Votto seems to be making the most of his opportunity to hit clean-up for the Reds. Votto should be a solid contributor to all categories except stolen bases.

Joey Votto had a big day in the Reds win over San Francisco, reaching base five times as he went 4-for-4 with a walk and four RBI.

Our View:Votto ended August hitting .382, but with just two home runs. He's been a solid player all year for fantasy owners, but no doubt they would like to see a few more home runs from him. He has just three since June 21.

Joey Votto is hot as he racked up three hits in three of his last four games, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View:He has registered three hits in a game 16 times this season, giving him the lead among rookies. Geovany Soto of the Cubs ranks second in three-hit outings with eight. Votto should remain solid down the stretch as a fantasy first baseman.
