Ian Snell made his final start of the year Tuesday, the AP reports. Snell admitted to tiring in the second half of the year, so the team saw no reason to bring him back Sunday. Interestingly enough, he threw the ball very well over his final five turns (33 innings, six runs), after going through a very rough patch in August (6.03 ERA).

Manager Jim Tracy said on Sunday that he may skip Ian Snell's second start this week in order to limit his innings, according to the AP. Snell has thrown a career-high 202 innings this season.

Ian Snell removed himself from Wednesday's game after seven innings due to a sore arm. However, Snell said he plans on taking his next turn Tuesday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Ian Snell will miss his next start due to a burn blister on his pitching hand, according to the SportsTicker. Snell is 6-4 with a 2.63 ERA in 14 starts this year. The Bucs haven't said who will make a start in Snell's place.

Ian Snell had another fine performance on Monday, allowing just one run on three hits and four walks over seven innings, while striking out six batters. He's 1-1 now and has a 1.80 ERA and is averaging a strikeout per inning pitched.

Ian Snell struck out a career-high 11 on Tuesday, but didn't get a decision in the Pirates' 3-2 win over Houston. He was almost untouchable through the first five innings, striking out 10 of the first 15 Astros he faced. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk in six innings.
