Player Notes
February 25, 2010
"If he is 100 percent healthy by Opening Day, Nationals left-hander Scott Olsen will be a lock in the rotation," according to MLB.com.

Our View:Olsen is still recovering from shoulder surgery, but recovering well. As long as he makes it through the spring unscathed, he's worth a flier in all NL-only leagues.

Scott Olsen threw his first bullpen session of spring training Monday, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View:Olsen's session went fine, as he did not have any issues with his surgically-repaired left shoulder. He was never a reliable starter in his career, but could be worth a look for NL-only leagues if he proves to be healthy.
December 13, 2009
One day after being non-tendered by the Nationals, Scott Olsen has signed a one-year, $1 million contract to stay in Washington, according to ESPN.

Our View:With incentives, however, he could make almost $4 million if he starts 33 games in 2010. He went 2-4 with a 6.03 ERA last season before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery in July.
December 12, 2009
Scott Olsen was non-tendered by the Nationals on Saturday.

Our View:A bit surprising considering Olsen is still just 25 and one year removed from a very solid season. They could just be preparing to bring him back at a cheaper price.
September 8, 2009
Scott Olsen (left shoulder surgery) has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list.

Our View:The move was solely to clear space on the team's 40-man roster, and Olsen is expected to be healthy for the 2010 season.
