Ricky Nolasco broke a personal three-game losing streak with six strong innings in Friday's 7-3 win over the Nationals. Nolasco allowed one run on four hits, walked two and struck out six.

Our View:The 25-year-old right-hander reportedly corrected some mechanical flaws in his between-game bullpen session and it showed tonight. He was smooth in his delivery and efficient in his pitch count for the most of five innings.

Ricky Nolasco pitched five innings in Sunday's win over the Brewers, allowing one run on two hits. He walked four, struck out two and hit a batter.

Our View:Nolasco's effort was an improvement over his early April struggles. The effort lowered his ERA to 5.13 on the young season.

Ricky Nolasco suffered the loss in the Marlins' 8-0 Thursday whitewashing by the Atlanta Braves. In 4.2 innings of work Nolasco allowed six runs on nine hits, walked none and struck out four.

Our View:Nolasco evened his record at 1-1 and raised his ERA to 6.46.

Ricky Nolasco will make his first start of the season tonight against Houston, according to MLB.com. He will replace Rick VandenHurk, who has been demoted and optioned to Double-A. Nolasco has notably been solid in limited action this season, as he is yet to allow a run over 5.2 innings.

Ricky Nolasco is expected to move into the rotation following the demotion of Rick VandenHurk on Sunday, the Miami Herald reports. Nolasco has pitched well in two long relief appearances this season.
